Escape to Sanity
I
Sunrise on the beach
brings another day,
but unlike my home in the city,
there are no dues here to pay
I really don't have
to shave my face,
for there are no customers
here in this place
No buttoned down minds
or buttoned up vests,
nor any other of
life's conformity tests
You know, we've come a long way
since we crawled up on this beach,
but still in search of sanity
it's to this place we reach
Isn't it truly ironic that
with all my high tech toys,
I simply cannot match
simplistic solitudes joys
For here I find all
the things I really truly need,
and life's simple lessons
in observation now I heed
this
